********MEET TRISTAN******** Our son, Tristan, is seven years old. He has been with Maury Magic Riders since Spring 2008. The therapy provided by Maury Magic Riders has benefited Tristan physically, cognitively, emotionally, and socially. Tristan adores animals, and it is wonderful to see how joyful, verbal, and confident our son is when he is riding. It is a privilege for our family to be a part of Maury Magic Riders. We appreciate the kind, dedicated volunteers, and the generous donors who make this program possible. As they work to improve the lives of the riders, I believe that they are not simply hewing stone; they are building Cathedrals. Dean & Barbie |
************** MEET ABBY **************** Abby has a speech development dely. She has no expressive words yet. She was also born with dislocated knees and hips. Abby started walking with out her walker just this past winter. ****HERE IS WHAT HER MOM HAS TO SAY**** She loves animals expecially horses. Maury Magic Riders has allowed Abby to enjoy the outdoors and horses, while working on many physical and motor skills. She gets so excited when we turn into the driveway. Her confidence and independence have improved greatly in just 6 weeks. We love the therapy she gets, but the supportive atmosphere and encoragement have been great. We drive from Brentwood every week, and it has been well worth it! |
********MEET TIFFANY******** Tiffany is twelve years old and lives in Mt. Pleasent. She has been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Tiffany's left leg and arm do not function properly, making it difficult fot her to walk. She is very active but is not able to run and play like other children her age because of her physical disability. ****HERE IS WHAT HER MOM HAS TO SAY**** "Maury Magic Riders is instramental in many ways. First Tiffany suffers from tightening of the muscles that requires Physical therapy and stretching that is uncomfortable in a clinincal setting. Maury Magic Riders performs the same stretches only she is on the horse and has no idea she is actually receiving therapy. Second she loves the animals, and when she rides you can tell she thinks that she is just like all the other kids. Tiffany has a picture album with her riding the horses and has to show everyone she can about her friends at Maury Magic Riders. This has been one of the most beneficial programs that Tifany has ever been a part of and we look foward to many more years of fun and therapy with all her four legged friends." |
